Lemony Sweet Elixir

I've gotten another hub up. I've been wanting to do a lens for a while on this topic. So I've finally gotten around to it and it's now up on HubPages. Lemonade is a favorite for me. I'm not really fond of canned, bottled, powdered or other lemonade products. They usually are too sweet or have an aftertaste. Please visit my lemonade recipe.

Dealing With Change

I don't like change. I like my own, comfy routine. This year has packed s few whammies as far as change. I had major surgery in March. My place of employment moved to temporary digs which were not comfortable in the least. Squidoo, the first of the UGC sites I've used besides my blogs, announced last saturday the 16th of August, they would be closing and all users had the option to move their content to HubPages automatically. Please visit my hub, The State of Flux.

Quinoa Tabbouleh

I looked at quinoa crosseyed the first time I saw it in an article. It took me some time before I bought it and put it on the shelf. Then, I discovered it significant nutritional value - it's a complete protein. That's a plus. It's also not an animal protein. I do eat meat, but I like to keep meat consumption to only a few times a week. Do stop in and have a look see at my recipe, Quinoa Tabouleh.

Book Review: Kristin Lavransdatter

Kristin Lavransdatter stands in my mind as being one of the best of the books I've read over my lifetime. Most people who know me would be surprised. My preferred genres are mysteries, and sci-fi, fantasy. Please stop in and have a look see at my review of the book.

Favorite Detective Shows

I favor mystery and detective stories in my reading and TV viewing. Over the last few years television and movies have seen an influx of Sherlock Holmesian viewing. Many of them with a new twist on the old game. Please take a moment to read my commentary on many of the detective shows I love. My recent hub, Detective Shows I Like, can be found here.

No Fail Rice

I've mentioned a few times I've been using the WonderBag when I cook. I have no trouble making rice for sushi, but when it comes to fluffy steamed rice, I get a mess. Making rice in the Wonderbag is no-fail if I follow the instructions. Visit my hub on rice in the Wonderbag. The WonderBag is available on Amazon.

Book Review: Long Shadows by Grace DeLuca

I love to read. I'd read a lot more if I didn't have a day job. I decided to transfer over some of my lenses manually. This was a real feel good book. A cozy mystery with a smattering of romance and closure for a family's many years of grief. Please stop in to have a look at my review on HubPages. You'll also find the book on Amazon.

It's A Dirty Job ...

Another of my first hubs is, Nuthin' Like Playin' in the MudI love clay work. It is a source of great relaxation for me. My creative urges have an outlet as well. So, I've written a hub on just that, getting muddy. Please take a moment to visit and comment.

Chicken Sishebo

I love curry. So do many other people. What I love about curry is that so many cultures have put their stamp on it. Each has a slightly different spin. And one learns a little bit about the culture from which it originates as well. South African curry stew is quite good and very hearty. Check out my recipe on HubPages for Chicken Sishebo. You can also check out the WonderBag here.

The WonderBag

So, one thing I can't rave enough about is the WonderBag. I've have one for myself and find it is awesome for those times I do get in the kitchen to cook. Check out the WonderBag here. Or, better yet, visit my hub on the subject.

For families needing to make a little more time in their evenings to spend with each other or single moms who don't have enough time in a day, the WonderBag is the answer. The best part of the whole thing is that for every Wonderbag sold, one is donated to someone in need of one in a third world country.

Doing What I Like To Do

One thing I really enjoy is doing interviews with authors. One of the first lens I transferred over to HubPages manually is my interview with author Erica Miner. I read Erica's book, Murder in the Pit, a little over a year ago. I enjoyed it so much, I know I'm going to do a reread. Please stop in over at HubPages and have a look-see.

Squidoo and now HubPages, provides me with a writing outlet when I can't fit in writing one of my books or short stories.

Settling In Nicely.

I'm settling in nicely over at HubPages. There's been a wonderful outpouring of assistance and question-answering to help all of us squids make the transition. Read more here on the move from Squidoo to HubPages.

My first hub is an about-me piece. Talks a little about me so my new neighbors can get to know me. The first lense is, "What's Caught In Arachnea's Web." Just click the link so you can visit. Feel free to comment as well.

From Squidoo to HubPages

I've not done a lot with this blog for a while. I didn't realize it had been so long. But, I'll be getting things up and running again.

Squidoo was sold 08/15/14 to Hub Pages. I'm moving my content as a result. My old Arachnea account on Squidoo is here. You'll find the new Arachnea account on HubPages here. Do stop in and visit. I've posted a few hubs already.

Writing is moving slowly. The company I work for is moving all the positions but 2 in my department to California. So, I'm trying to tie down my next bread-winning pursuit so I don't have to keep my life on hold. But I do peck at the writing and Squidoo (now HubPages) does provide an outlet.
